Scientific Anglers Shooting Lines

A variety of Shooting Lines are offered to pair with different types of heads depending on the fishing application.  Absolute Flat Mono Shooting Lines come in 4 strengths from 25-50 lb. to use with Two-Handed Lines.  With low memory and a rectangular shape, tangling is minimized in any conditions.

Floating Braided Polyethylene Monofilament gives exceptional distance in surf casting situations with minimal tangling.  The Intermediate Sinking Shooting Line has minimal friction with the AST additive.  It has a single-strand 25 lb. monofilament core that gives great bite detection and hook setting.  The Floating Monocore Shooting Line is on a similar core, but floats.  It has the ST slickness additive for minimal friction and maximum distance and is a perfect complement with either Skagit or Scandi Spey Lines.

The Textured Shooting Line is the ultimate in long-distance casting and is offered in two diameters.  It has a large, 8-inch welded loop for changing heads quickly.  With Welded Loops, SA ID, AST, and Textured Finish, it is the most fully featured shooting line.

To get a fly deep as quickly as possible, the Sonar Deep Water Express Shooting Taper is the tool for the job.   With a sink rate of almost 10 ips, it is possible to get a fly down 20 feet or more and hold it there for an extended period of time.  At 30’ long and weight of 850 grains, it can be used at full length or cut to match a specific line weight.

TC Textured Spey Tips are available in different lengths and densities to be added to any of  Skagit Heads for carry your fly to the proper depth.  Sonar Leaders are used with the Scandi Head to maintain the proper fly swing depth.  All Two-Handed Lines feature a high-visibility sighter at the back end to help find proper overhang.  SA ID is at the tip of each to help identify the correct grain weight.
