Veevus Body Fuzz is a spooled, fuzzy synthetic fly tying material designed to quickly build buggy bodies, abdomens, thoraxes, legs, and streamer profiles with minimal prep. Its soft, mobile fibers add texture and movement, while the subtle UV-reflective finish gives flies an added trigger in stained water, fast currents, low light, and aggressive feeding situations.
Available in Small and Large, Veevus Body Fuzz can be matched to everything from tiny nymphs and emergers to woolly buggers, trout streamers, steelhead flies, saltwater patterns, and warmwater baitfish imitations. It wraps easily like a body material but creates a fuller, more lifelike profile than standard thread or floss.
Veevus Body Fuzz is a fast way to add life, movement, and buggy texture to a fly without blending dubbing or building complicated brush-style bodies. It works especially well when you want a material that wraps cleanly but still produces a soft, fuzzy, fishy silhouette. We like the Small size for compact nymph bodies and hot-spot thoraxes, while the Large size is excellent for streamers, buggers, and flies that need more motion in the water.
Veevus Body Fuzz is ideal for tying:
Small - Best for hook sizes approximately #12 to #20. Use it for slim nymph bodies, emergers, compact thoraxes, subtle hot spots, and small buggy profiles.
Large - Best for larger streamer and saltwater hooks approximately #2 to #10. Use it for woolly buggers, trout streamers, baitfish imitations, steelhead flies, and saltwater patterns that need more movement and profile.
Choose the size based on the fly profile you want to build. Small Body Fuzz keeps patterns slim and controlled, while Large Body Fuzz creates more movement and bulk for bigger flies.
As you wrap forward, stroke the fibers backward with your fingers or a Velcro brush after each turn to avoid trapping material under the next wrap. Secure the tie-off point with firm thread wraps and finish with a small touch of head cement or UV resin for added durability.
