Veevus Lucent Body is an ultra-fine translucent micro chenille designed for building slim, durable, and subtly sparkling fly bodies without adding excess bulk. With a fine synthetic profile of approximately 3mm, this material sits perfectly between thin body quill and larger flat braids, giving fly tyers a clean body material with just the right amount of texture, glow, and segmentation.
Its translucent finish and built-in sparkle make it an excellent choice for caddis patterns, sedges, nymphs, pupae, scuds, chironomids, attractor nymphs, and small streamer accents. Whether wrapped as a full body, used as an underbody, or added as a subtle flash accent beneath natural fibers, Veevus Lucent Body creates a buggy aquatic look that works especially well on small to medium hooks.
Veevus Lucent Body is easy to wrap, naturally buggy, and slim enough for smaller fly patterns. It gives flies more depth and attraction than plain thread or yarn, but does not create the bulky profile of larger chenilles. We especially like it for caddis pupae, sedge bodies, chironomids, scuds, and small nymphs where a translucent, sparkly body can help imitate the natural glow of aquatic insects.

Wrap Veevus Lucent Body with close, even turns to maintain a smooth segmented look and prevent the thread base from showing through. A clean thread foundation underneath will help the finished body stay uniform and proportional.
For extra glow, pair Lucent Body with pearl tinsel, flashabou, or fine flash ribbing underneath or over the body. This can enhance the translucent effect and create a more noticeable aquatic shimmer.
To improve durability, secure the tie-off point with firm thread wraps and finish with a small touch of thin UV resin or head cement. Use resin sparingly over the body if you want added protection while still preserving the fuzzy, buggy micro-chenille texture.
