Pat Ehlers' Fat Boy Crab

In looking at why or how a successful permit fly should work, Pat Ehlers worked with Florida’s Rick Murphy, host of the Sportsman’s Adventures television show, to find that crabs need to fall quickly to the bottom. The Fat Boy Crab from Rainy’s Flies is designed to do that. It is tied reverse style to get to the bottom quickie like a natural fleeing from a permit. Pat has caught some giant bonefish on the west side of Andros Island with the Fat Boy Crab, too.
