Saltwater fly fishing is demanding on many levels, harsh environments and variables like wind, angles, moving fish and more - the new NRX+ Saltwater fly rods are designed to overcome those variables through maximum versatility. Thanks to the most advanced compound taper construction G.Loomis has ever used, these saltwater fly rods provide casting (and pulling) power, high line speed and loop stability while still providing tons of feel and finesse at short distances. This saltwater fly fishing versatility lets you launch a permit crab at full distance or drop a bonefish shrimp fly at 25' when they show up out of nowhere. This family of G.Loomis fly rods is made up of 20 individual actions, each tuned for maximum versatility and capability in their line size.
Offered in 7-12wt line sizes, NRX+ Saltwater fly rods have everything in the salt covered including redfish, snook, bonefish, permit, tarpon, GTs and more. We also love to use these NRX+ fly rods for predator species in freshwater like bass, pike and muskies!
The tech basis of the new NRX+ fly rods is Dynamic Recovery Technology (DRT). Powered by G.Loomis' new Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin system, the new NRX+ Saltwater fly rod is lighter than the original NRX, develops stable loops with less effort and provides the same strength and impact resistance but with less material. G.Loomis utilizes these incredible materials through an improved version of their proprietary Multi-Taper Design technology. These materials and techniques achieve crisp actions that have a smooth and rapid recovery.
