Bajío Zapata Polarized Sunglasses

Large-Fit Full Wrap Performance Fishing Sunglasses with LAPIS Lens Technology

Built for flats, mangroves, and bright saltwater environments, the Bajío Zapata Polarized Sunglasses are designed for anglers who need full-coverage performance and sharp visibility on the water. Named after the Zapata Swamp in Cuba, a legendary fishery loaded with permit, bonefish, snook, tarpon, snapper, and barracuda, this frame is made for spotting your target before the shot presents itself.

With a large fit and full-wrap frame, the Zapata delivers serious coverage for anglers who spend long days scanning glare-heavy water. Whether you’re hunting tailing permit, tracking cruising bonefish, or watching for tarpon movement along the edge, these polarized fishing sunglasses help keep your vision protected, focused, and ready.

Ideal Use

  • Flats fishing
  • Saltwater sight fishing
  • Bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook fishing
  • Redfish and inshore fishing
  • Boat fishing
  • Bright sun and high-glare water
  • Anglers needing large-fit full-wrap coverage

Built for Flats Fishing Performance

The Zapata’s integrated side shields help block stray light from the sides, making them a strong choice for sight fishing in intense sun and reflective water. The arched brow design adds coverage from above while helping reduce overhead glare, giving anglers a more focused field of view when reading water, spotting movement, and tracking fish.

The full-wrap design provides the coverage needed for open flats, coastal wetlands, boat decks, and bright shoreline conditions. From Cuba-inspired saltwater flats to local redfish and snook water, the Zapata is built for anglers who rely on clear vision and dependable eye protection.

Why We Like It

The Bajío Zapata Polarized Sunglasses are built for serious sight fishing. The large-fit full-wrap frame, integrated side shields, and arched brow design give anglers the kind of coverage that matters when glare is coming from every direction. Paired with Bajío’s Lapis Technology, the Zapata is a strong choice for flats anglers who need polarized fishing sunglasses that help them stay focused, comfortable, and ready to make the shot.

LAPIS™ Lens Technology — See More, Fish Longer

Bajío’s proprietary LAPIS™ technology selectively filters damaging light wavelengths that cause eye strain while enhancing the colors anglers rely on to detect movement beneath the surface.

LAPIS™ Performance Benefits

  • Blocks 90% of harsh yellow light
  • Blocks 95% of harmful blue light
  • Blocks 100% of UV radiation
  • Improves contrast and visual acuity
  • Reduces glare and eye fatigue

The result is clearer vision, better depth perception, and improved ability to locate fish, structure, and changing bottom contours.

GREEN MIRROR

BRIGHT LIGHT CONDITIONS
GREEN MIRROR / BROWN AMBER BASE / 12% VLT
The king of all lenses. This is like an 18ft center console. You’re never in the perfect rig, but you’ll always have the opportunity to get it done. You can get skinny enough, and in a pinch run further than you should. Bajio's green mirror can do it all. Pitch a bait to a fired-up white or scope out a snook on a sea wall, green is your partner in crime for whatever you're taking a whack at. With an amber base, you’ll have enough contrast to distinguish a back from a branch and with a green mirror you won't murder your eyes scanning the deep blue for floating debris. If we could pick one, this would be it.

SILVER MIRROR

MEDIUM LIGHT CONDITIONS
SILVER MIRROR / COPPER BASE / 14% VLT
Bajio's inshore medium light lens, the Silver Mirror lens is the most versatile glass mirror. It works great for fishing the flats, reefs and shorelines in bright sun and lower light conditions. The copper base, brown polarized film and silver mirror combine to making it a high contrast lens that allows you to spot fish, coral heads and other underwater structures against the bottom. Visually, objects appear slightly tinted with a reddish-brown hue.

VIOLET MIRROR

LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS
VIOLET MIRROR / YELLOW BASE / 22% VLT
We all know that no matter the fishery, first and last light always produce. Running a skiff at shooting light through the mangroves or tying on that hail mary streamer, these low light hours often contain the minutes we live for. Bajio built a lens to maximize minimal rays. When the sun is low and the fish are up, look for Bajio's violet mirror.
