The River Rat is an articulated trout streamer fly that is also excellent for smallmouth bass in rivers and lakes.  The combination of flash, natural materials and articulation in this streamer fly pattern allows for tons of enticing movement and visibility.  Excellent streamer for fly fishing trout in rivers and bass in lakes and rivers.  This is a great pattern to fish on a sink-tip fly fishing line.
