Gliss’N Glow is a corrugated, iridescent flash material designed to realistically mimic the reflective scales of baitfish, adding lifelike sparkle and movement to a wide range of fly patterns. When tied in sparse strands, it creates a beaten-up, injured baitfish effect that triggers aggressive strikes from both freshwater and saltwater species.
The unique corrugated texture catches and scatters light far more dynamically than flat flash, making Gliss’N Glow especially effective in salmon and steelhead tube flies, baitfish streamers, and modern predator patterns. Once wet, the material comes alive—pulsing, flashing, and breathing with each strip or swing.
Highly versatile and easy to work with, Gliss’N Glow can be tied straight into tails, folded into wings, or spun into dubbing loops to create messy, buggy profiles. It pairs exceptionally well with natural dubbing, fur, and other flash materials for added depth and dimension.
Length: 8" hank
In the tail: Fold strands and tie in uneven ends for a flowing, split-tail look
In a dubbing loop: Spin strands with dubbing, wrap the shank, and brush out for a buggy, chaotic profile
Layering: Combine with dubbing, fur, Flashabou, or Glow Bug Yarn to add depth and contrast
Sparse is key: A few strands go a long way for a realistic, “worked-over” baitfish effect
Purple Haze–Style Streamers: Folded and spun with dubbing and peacock herl
Bass Minnow Patterns: Used in the belly, underwing, and overwing for scale flash
Modern Fatbacks & Predator Flies: Adds flash without overpowering the profile
