Marabou Brothers Marabou Blood Quill Strung 2"

Marabou Brothers Marabou Blood Quill Strung 2" is a versatile fly tying marabou material made from soft, webby plumes with thin, flexible stems and flowing fibers. The feathers are stitched together in a continuous strung format, making it easy to sort, select, and tie consistent streamer tails, wings, collars, and palmered bodies at the vise.

Available in multiple select sizes for best application uses. Whether you are tying Woolly Buggers, leech patterns, trout jigs, small baitfish streamers, Peanut Envy-style flies, Circus Peanut-style streamers, bass flies, or steelhead patterns, this strung marabou adds a soft pulsing action that breathes naturally in the water.

These are 2" long strung strips, not 2" long feathers.

Why We Like It

Marabou Brothers Blood Quill Strung 2" is a dependable bench material for tying small to medium streamers, buggers, jigs, and leeches. The strung design keeps the feathers organized and easy to work through, while the soft marabou fibers create lifelike motion with very little material. We especially like it for compact patterns that need a flowing tail, buggy wrapped body, or translucent streamer wing without becoming oversized.

Tying Tips

Sort through the strung feathers before tying. Because strung marabou naturally varies in size, density, and stem quality, selecting the right plume first helps create cleaner, more consistent flies.

For tails and wings, use a sparse amount of marabou and match the fiber length to the overall fly profile. Too much marabou can reduce movement, while a lighter tie-in often pulses better once wet.

For palmered bodies and collars, stroke or fold the fibers rearward before each wrap to prevent trapping. For a slimmer body, strip fibers from one side of the stem before wrapping.

Lightly dampening the feather can help align the barbs and make the stem more pliable. This is especially useful when wrapping marabou around the hook shank or building smooth, low-bulk leech bodies.
