The Nautilus NV-G series fly reels has one of the finest drag systems in the business and is the ultimate model of the line of Nautilus fly reels. They pick up line faster than any other comparable reel in the market, are super lightweight and extremely tough and durable fly reels. The unique CNC machining on the large arbor allows air to get under the backing allowing the backing to dry quicker. Getting the moisture out of the backing quicker keeps corrosion from taking place. Having wet backing is one of the leading causes of corrosion in fly reels.

 

The G-Spool design that picks up line faster also generates less line coiling as well as reducing the weight of the reel without sacrificing strength.

 

The Nautilus NV-G 7/8 Fly Reel is at home on a 7 or 8 weight fly rod patrolling your favorite bonefish flats. With plenty of backing capacity for these line weights it's a great choice and worthy of a claim of best bonefish fly reel. Same goes for redfish and single hand steelhead fly rods in the same line weights.
