With a great chance at a Grand Slam (tarpon, bonefish and permit) or even a Super Slam (plus a snook) this is a great fly fishing destination. Add in superb food, great service, a friendly staff and a beautiful stretch of beach right out the front door of your bungalow and you have a fantastic fly fishing destination.

We can help you plan your own fly fishing adventure or join us on our trip in March, 2011. Call Pat at 414-259-8100 or email him at info@theflyfishers.com for help in booking a trip.

The Fly Fishers Boca Paila 2011 Hosted Trip

Tarpon, bonefish, snook and lots of permit is what Boca Paila is all about. It is probably the best destination to not only catch a grand slam but to catch a super slam. We're heading there next March. Join us from March 21 - 28, 2010. The lodge has lowered the price to $3100 making this weeklong fishing adventure a great deal. If next winter is anything like this winter has been we can't imagine being anywhere else than Mexico's Ascension Bay. Call Pat at 414-259-8100 or e-mail him at info@theflyfishers.com for more information.

Agua Boa Amazon Peacock Bass

Agua Boa Amazon Peacock BassRated one of the Top 10 Forbes Life Fly Fishing Lodges in the world Agua Boa is one of the finest fishing lodges you can fish. Agua Boa is extremely remote but has unbelievably deluxe accommodations featuring cottages for two that have air-conditioning, twin queen size beds and tiled private bathrooms. The lodge has a swim-up bar on its 20-meter swimming pool, dining room, great food and even satellite TV and wi fi connections for those of you who need to stay connected.

As for the fishing, this is a crystal clear river system that boasts of great numbers of peacock bass with large peacocks being caught here too. This is a fly-fishing only lodge to protect the fish as only barbless single hooks are allowed to protect the fish but weighted flies can be cast with spinning gear. Guides use poles and paddles to get anglers into casting position and there are even some wading opportunities available. There are 18 species of fish that have been caught on flies in the Agua Boa so peacocks aren’t the only species available to the angler. This fishery, because of its spring fed nature, remains very consistent in water flow. This is an issue that causes problems for many other lodges.

We would be happy to help you book your peacock bass fly fishing adventure or you can join one of our hosted trips to Agua Boa. Call Pat at 414-259-8100 or email him at info@theflyfishers.com for help in booking a trip.

The Fly Fishers Hosted Agua Boa Trip February 17-26, 2011

Agua Boa Amazon Peacock Bass  Agua Boa Amazon Peacock Bass

We are heading deep into the Amazon jungles of Brazil for an amazing fly-fishing adventure in search of peacock bass on the fly in February of 2011. Join Pat Ehlers of The Fly Fishers at Agua Boa one of the finest fly-fishing lodges in the world. Located 200 miles north of Manaus, Brazil you can fish the crystal clear waters of the Agua Boa River for peacock bass as well as a number of other species.

The lodge has air-conditioned chalets with private baths and wireless connections to keep you in touch. There is a 20-meter swimming pool along with wet and dry bars for your comfort. The lodge is located 30 feet above the river and you will have uninterrupted views of this jungle paradise.

For the sport fisherman the river is exclusively fly-fishing water, with a 'catch and release' policy using single barb-less hooks.
So far, fishermen at the lodge have taken at least eighteen different species of fish on a fly in the waters of the Agua Boa.

In most instances, when the water is a little high the guide can 'pole' the fishing boat up shallow creeks that lead off the main river and into interconnecting lakes. On other occasions a walk of no more than a quarter mile (half kilometer) will bring you to these secluded waters. Boats are moored on such lakes for the fishermen's convenience.

Fishing the Agua Boa River offers the fly fisherman a trip that they will never forget. It is not just a fishing experience, casting a fly to strange and exotic fish in these pristine waters. It is in fact high-adventure.
